Carney leads Hackett 46-36

Interesting result in the battle of the Chris's, also known as the PA-10 House election. According to an independent Lycoming College poll, Chris Carney is leading Chris Hackett 46-36.

Interesting. I find this a little surprising, actually, but certainly encouraging for the Dems. Note that the poll had 18% undecideds, however -- that leaves things a little up in the air.

The only other poll I remember reading on this race was August's SurveyUSA poll which showed a 49-45 Carney lead. So if you believe those two polls, Carney's stayed about the same and Hackett's actually dropped. But again, I don't know what to make of that 18% undecided bloc in the more recent poll.

I'm not surprised. At the time of the last poll that showed Carney ahead 49-45, Carney's representative said that their internal poll showed them up 2-1. The reality probably lies somewhere in between.

Note: Both Carney and Hackett opposed the bailout bill that failed in the House yesterday.

Since Hackett's truth meter is about 3 lies for every half truth he tells, is there any truth behind the $5,000 raise in middle class tax cuts?

Where did the $5,000 statement come from? A TV ad? Is he saying Carney wants to raise taxes $5k, or Hackett wants to lower them $5k?

He said Carney want to raise them in a TV ad.
